Engine testing

We perform a variety of testing, encompassing pre-delivery testing of complete engines, space propulsion turbines as well as engine components.

Engine testing takes place in our recently upgraded test cells enabling ultra quiet testing around the clock. The test cells can accommodate engines of all types from small turboprops to large turbofan engines. We test industrial gas turbines, commercial and military engines. In addition we have extensive development testing resources in our RAM test cell.

Our component testing includes wind and fluid tunnels and many different fuels can be used for testing of components and scale models. Testing can be performed on as different objects as space propulsion turbines and automotive turbochargers.

We test all the engine types served by Volvo Aero and perform services in the field, such as vibration survey and trim balancing.
