Volvo Aero Services announced today the establishment of Volvo Aero Services Military & Defense which will focus on parts support for the defense aviation marketplace.
Sales during the fourth quarter decreased by 18% to SEK 1,978 M (2,398), mainly due to currency effects and lower sales within a number of engine programs. The important production and sales of new spare parts decreased during the quarter with -26%.
Volvo Aero’s light weight technology has enjoyed yet another success. Commencing in 2007, the company has developed the Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC), a hot load-bearing structure in the GP7000 engine for the Airbus A380.
