The Norwegian government has decided to purchase the F35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) to replace its current fleet of F-16 aircraft. "It is pleasing that the long decision process is over. On Tuesday, Pratt & Whitney and Volvo Aero Norge signed an agreement to manufacture a critical engine component for the F135 propulsion system powering the F35 Lightning II. This agreement, combined with previous agreements signed with the company, have a potential value of more than US$700 million in production over the life of the program

Volvo Aero and General Electric have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding strategic cooperation on the F414 engine. The MoU is intended for a possible sale of Gripen Next Generation Aircraft to Norway.
