Master of Science Industrial Engineering and Management
Linköping Institute of Technology

I was born in 1984 in Trollhättan where I spent the first 20 years of my life. After graduating from Volvo Aero Industrial high school I worked and travelled for two years, the highlight being a five month stay in the Austrian Alps. During this trip to Bad Gastein I got to know a student form M.Sc. Industrial Engineering and Management at Linköping Institute of Technology. He managed to convince me that this was the best available M.Sc. education, due to the combination of technical and economical courses.

Since I have always had a big interest in both these areas I decided to give it a shot and I started my studies in august 2005; a decision I never had to regret.
During my years in Linköping I dedicated 10-30 hours weekly on student engagements, something that affected my grades slightly but in turn developed my can-do attitude and creativity towards solving problems in stressful situations. Student engagement is something I strongly recommend when reflecting back on my years in Linköping. But every upside has a downfall, due to the heavy workload of both studying and doing these engagements I felt the need of taking a break. Which lead to sabbatical and a second season long stay in Austria, this time in St. Anton.

When I got back I decided that it was time to continue my education. After completing two more years in Linköping I wrote my master’s thesis at Volvo Aero in Trollhättan. The thesis regarded how to implement a systematic approach as to when, how and by whom P-FMEA should be performed within the company.

After completing my master’s thesis it was suddenly time to grow up and enter the labour market. A week later I was working at an office in Gothenburg trading products with the Far East. It was both fun and inspiring but not quite what I had imagined myself doing. So when Volvo Aero offered me a position as Process Verification Leader I had to say yes.

A few weeks after I started my new job I read about the Young Graduate program, I found it very interesting so I filed an application. After an intense and exciting selection process I was one of the lucky five who made it all the way through and got offered the position. I could not turn such an opportunity down and it feels great to be part of the respectable collection of trainees who participated in the program over the years.

I spent the first internship period working as Process Verification Leader for two different projects; PW1100G 30K IMC and SWAN. 30K IMC is a development project for an Intermediate case intended for the new generation of Airbus A320. SWAN stands for Sandwich Advanced Nozzle and is a new Nozzle for the Ariane space rockets. The two projects differentiate a lot both in terms of product and intended use. Therefore, it has been a great experience and I have learned a lot and gained many good contacts in various parts within Product Developing organisation.
