Specialized in Logistics and Production Economy

I was born and raised in Skaftö outside Lysekil. Where I spent my first 18 years before I moved to Lund to begin my university studies. In Lund, I was very involved in the mechanical engineering section where I had several different roles. By this commitment, I have come to know students from different study orientations and obtained valuable experience. After four years in Lund, I decided to take a break before writing my thesis. During the second half of 2007 I worked, and in mid-October I traveled to Thailand. I began writing my thesis in the spring of 2008 at Volvo Logistics in Gothenburg.

The Young Graduate Programme at Volvo Aero began with one week of introduction in which the company and Volvo AB group were presented. During this week we in the Young Graduate Programme also the chance to get to know each other a little better. The following four weeks consisted of the workshop practice, when I was in the Multi Task cell in X-shop. To be on the floor and see how production goes to was valuable for me that have not previously worked in a production environment. Then I moved on to the  Cost and Capital Improvement initiative, where I participated in a development program and created a method for calculating costs for new technologies.

Two months later I continued to a new department, Material Control, where I conducted a gap analysis in order to secure competence for the future and identify potential gaps.  My following period at the company was with the Marketing Rolls Royce programs where I had many small assignments. Among others creating a file for price escalations, making it easier to update prices towards one of our suppliers. At the time of writing, I am working at a department called Working Capital where I participate in a study analyzing the product cost at one of our focused products.

The approaching internship abroad with one of our partners will add further experience and deeper understanding of our customers’ and suppliers’ needs. It is also a good opportunity to bring back new knowledge to our company and to build bridges with our partners around the world. I am very happy that I got this chance to participate in the Young Graduate Programme at Volvo Aero and I think it is the perfect first job!
