For Volvo Aero, net sales during the first quarter increased by 5% to SEK 1,682 M (1,598). Adjusted for currency fluctuations, sales during the first quarter increased by 1%. Increased productivity contributed to higher profitability.

University West has secured funding to start an industrial research school. Employees from ten Swedish industrial companies, including Volvo Aero, are to be trained as researchers by the university. During the training, postgraduates will come up with scientific solutions to industrial problems at their own companies.

The Volvo Aero owned company, Applied Composites AB – ACAB – has been appointed by LIG Nex1, a LIG Group company in South Korea, for the development of a prototype stealth radome for the KFX aircraft programme.
